Flaky puff pastry filled with Nutella, twisted into snowflakes with a golden, powdered sugar finish.
# What you'll need:
→ Pastry
01 - 2 sheets ready-rolled puff pastry (approximately 8.8 oz each), thawed if frozen
→ Filling
02 - 6 tablespoons Nutella or equivalent chocolate-hazelnut spread
→ Topping
03 - 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
04 - 1 tablespoon powdered sugar (for dusting)
# How to make it:
01 - Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
02 - Unroll one sheet of puff pastry and place it on the prepared baking tray.
03 - Evenly spread Nutella over the pastry, maintaining a 0.4 inch border around the edges.
04 - Place the second sheet of puff pastry over the Nutella layer, aligning edges precisely.
05 - Position a small glass in the center of the pastry without pressing down. Using a sharp knife, cut 16 equal strips from the edge of the glass to the edge of the pastry, forming sun ray shapes.
06 - Gently twist each pastry strip 2 to 3 times. For a snowflake effect, pinch the ends of the strips together if desired.
07 - Remove the glass and brush the entire pastry surface with the beaten egg to ensure a golden finish.
08 - Bake in the preheated oven for 18 to 22 minutes until puffed and deeply golden.
09 - Allow the pastry to cool slightly, dust with powdered sugar, and serve warm or at room temperature.
